Evotech BMW R1200RS Tail tidy challenge

By: on 5 November 2018
Great product, allows two configurations of tail-tidy (with or without panniers). In experienced hands this was not an insignificant amount of work to fit. The outcome however was worthwhile. Product fitted perfectly but due to the fact that the wiring from the bike to the number plate globe unit did not have a inline plug and the tail tidy parts had insufficient space to feed the indicator wiring and the globe socket through, nevertheless, a compromise was found which worked perfectly. The appearance achieved was perfect, quality of product and finish was first class.

Good product and reasonable well priced

Relatively easy install and much cleaner finish to the tail of the bike compared to OEM. Very happy with the end result and pleased that a. the product was available in Australia given Evotech UK were out of stock and b. speed of delivery from Hurtle Gear. Would have been good if the product came with the install instructions as having the hard copy while working is better than online. As they say, check and step through the instructions in full before commencing install. One issue is, after connecting the wiring and assembling Light Unit, Light Bracket and Licence Plate Bracket, Step 29 is to feed wires through the hole in the under-tray. I had to cut (then rejoin) the licence plate light wire to do this as there was no connector under the seat
