New Zealand South Island Adventure Tour Wrap Up

Author: Dan Talbot   Date Posted: 6 May 2025

This will be the last instalment from my New Zealand ride.  Adam Reimann of Motology Films has released a 45-minute documentary of the trip which goes to the heart of our adventure, capturing both the beauty of New Zealand and the excitement of punting big, off-road motorcycles over some pretty spectacular terrain.  My writing simply can’t compete with the videography of one of the most amazing ride destinations in the world so I’m handing over to Adam.

I have been following Adam and his Motology Films for about 18 months and have participated in several rides inspired by him.  In fact, following his work is costing me a few of my hard-earned shekels.  For example, before we even reached the end of Tropic Thunder, I was scrolling for details on where to register for the next available ride.

Fellow West Aussie adventure and enduro riders should also have a look at the Warhorse Muster, which is a kind of homage to a vintage Africa Twin.  The Muster takes place on private property about two or three hours South-East of Perth and is highly recommended.

Anyone wanting to know about future events, including the next Warhorse Muster, are encouraged to follow the Motology site or Facebook page and maybe we’ll see you on a future event.

In the meantime, here’s a link to our most recent trip: https://motologyfilms.com/why-the-ktm-890r-is-in-a-class-of-its-own/

Dan, you’re absolutely correct about the splendor and magic of New Zealand. It should most definitely be on every real adventure riders bucket list. Adam did a fantastic job of documenting what turned out to be a ride of a lifetime for me, there’s no question about that! Keep up the great work, I’m following along and looking forward to seeing your future posts. Until we meet again, ride safe!!!
