The Yamaha MT-09 Evotech Performance Front spindle bobbins (axle sliders) are meant to protect the front wheel spindle retainers, brake callipers, and fork lowers. The bobbin heads are expected to take impact first in an incident since they stick out from either side of the wheel, and the dual materials offer durability and strength. The nylon bobbin heads are also free to rotate above the aluminium inner, reducing wheel stress.
