This product from RAM Mounts has a 1" diameter rubber ball connected to a 2.5" diameter base with a triple magnetic base adaptor. The 2.5" diameter base has pre-drilled holes according to the universal AMPS hole pattern.

The magnetic base has 3 rare earch magnets that hold firmly to any metal surface. Very strong grip. The adaptor is designed to hide the magnets.
